AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) and SkyCell have sealed a close partnership for the lease of all types of SkyCell’s temperaturecontrolled containers. Russian all-cargo airline ABC is one of the global leaders in transportation of pharmaceutical products by air. With its innovative container solutions, Swiss-based SkyCell has become one of the most successful manufacturer and service providers of temperature-controlled containers for pharmaceuticals. With their close partnership, both companies want to meet the rising demand in pharmaceutical shipments. At ABC, the global volume for such high-value shipments doubled in Q1 2019 to around 3,500 tons.
“With SkyCell containers we have increased the total number of cold-chain special packaging solutions partners aiming at embracing all leading manufacturers to cater to the needs of different customers. SkyCell data-collection enablement supports our intention to move further with ‘Internet of Things’ penetration into the industry and step aside from peer-to-peer data sharing to information transparency and availability. On top of this, it fosters an extra piece of mind for our customers to have real-time data in one click,” said Fedor Novikov, Deputy General Director, Products, AirBridgeCargo Airlines.
The SkyCell line of passive containers is capable of keeping the internal temperature within the range of +2° to +8°C and +15°C to +25°C under external temperature excursions from – 35°C to +65°C to meet the requirements of various pharmaceutical manufacturers, as well as logistics companies involved in a complex transportation process. With its award-winning and quality audited performance of its temperature-controlled pharma containers, SkyCell is constantly pushing for innovation and better services. For every shipment, SkyCell experts use the SkyCell Transport Planner for risk assessment and define lane SOPs together with the shipper, freight forwarder and airlines, producing a comprehensive lane risk analysis “ABC has one of the most modern airline fleets and, like SkyCell, is committed to greater transparency in the industry. Together we strive to make pharmaceutical logistics safer, more reliable and more sustainable,” said Richard Ettl, CEO of SkyCell.
AirBridgeCargo has adopted a thorough and well-balanced approach towards the development of its dedicated ‘ABC pharma’ product. It is continuously reinforcing its team of experts, expanding its pool of special packaging manufacturers and implementing the latest digital solutions. Most importantly, it is constantly deepening its field-specific knowledge and sharing it with customers and partners through educational workshops and aircraft tours.
