Cold Chain Technologies (CCT), a market leading global manufacturer of insulated packaging solutions is proud to announce its participation in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai on September 21, 2014 as the official sponsor of Refueling Station #6 in Wellesley, Massachusetts. As sponsor of Refueling Station #6, employee volunteers of Cold Chain Technologies will distribute food and beverages to thousands of walkers en route to the Copley Square finish line. In addition to sponsoring the refueling station, CCT has organized Team Cold Chain, a group of walkers comprised of employees that have joined together to raise funds.
“We are honored to partake in such a special community event for a very worthy cause. Cancer is a disease that directly or indirectly affects us all. Not only are we proud to be a refueling station sponsor, but we’ve also organized a team of inspired employees that will participate in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk to contribute additional support to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund,” said Larry Gordon, president of Cold Chain Technologies.
More than 8,500 participants are expected to participate in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk, to honor friends, family, co-workers, and patients facing all forms of cancer. Walkers will complete one of the four routes: 26.2 miles starting from Hopkinton; 13.1 miles starting in Wellesley; 5 miles from Boston College; and 3 miles from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s campus, which includes many patients and their families. All routes end at the Copley Square finish line in Boston. Walkers begin in Hopkinton between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m. (rolling start); at Wellesley High School between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. (rolling start); at Boston College between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. (rolling start); and at Dana-Farber at 1:30 p.m.
The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk is the only event other than the Boston Marathon® itself that is sanctioned by the Boston Athletic Association to use the historic route. Since 1989, the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk has contributed nearly $95 million to support pediatric and adult cancer research and patient care at the Dana-Farber.
