PersonalMed, LLC, has entered into a collaborative agreement with AmerisourceBergen’s pharmacy services administrative organization (PSAO), Elevate Provider Network, to introduce its pharmacy credentialing program. The program is available to the more than 4,500 independent pharmacies that participate in the Good Neighbor Pharmacy and Elevate Provider Network programs, and is focused on ensuring pharmacists can continue to submit claims for compounded medications to payors that are increasingly adopting credentialing and accreditation requirements.
The relationship will encourage Good Neighbor Pharmacy and Elevate Provider Network members that compound medications to earn the cCert recognition by completing PersonalMed’s compounding certification program and to take advantage of its billing and claims-management services. PersonalMed and AmerisourceBergen will officially launch the credentialing program at ThoughtSpot, Good Neighbor Pharmacy’s annual conference and trade show held July 19 – 21, 2017, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Third-party payors – such as healthcare plan sponsors and their pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) – are increasingly adopting credentialing and accreditation requirements to ensure that the network of pharmacies filling compounded medications meets the highest standards of quality, compliance, accreditation and transparency within their products, pricing and business practices. The goal is to ensure that Elevate members remain in network for compounded medications.
